Earliest computer games that I have played.

Okay, let's talk about classic games. Some of classic games that became part of you childhood. Here's a list of mine:

First, the game that comes to mind when someone asks me 'what is the first computer game that you have played?' is the game TYRIAN.

A classic shooting game with customizable spaceships and stuffs. Really fun game.

This had me my first computer game addiction and I am playing it on on Orange Plasma display computer that runs Windows 3.1 and it looks like this:

Bring back a lot of memories. To give you an idea on it's gameplay, here's a footage that I found on youtube:

And guess what, you can download it on Good Ol' Games. Make you try it out because it's free. :D

Moving on, have you heard of the game Golden Axe? It's the first RPG game that I have ever played and I have no recollection of ever defeating the game, for the reason that I am, 6 years old when I'm playing it, HAHA! Never the less, like Tyrian, I have so many memories of that game that it always gives me nostalgia when I recall it.

Take a look, so classic. ;)

Haven't found any useful clips on youtube to show the gameplay but if you want to have an idea of the game and you can play it here [ http://www.retrogames.cz/play_037-DOS.php?language=EN ]. Worth a try. It's a classic. ;)

Lastly, one of the classic games that always comes to my mind is the game Hocus Pocus. A side scrolling shooter, wizardly theme game that made me feel horrified every time I played it. Maybe because it's setting is very darkish? A horrorific feeling that almost like Half Life or Diablo 2.
I mean, look at this screenshot:

THE HORROR!! :P

But I love the feeling. Hahaha. Nostalgia stikes!! x)))
Go give it a try on Good Ol' Games. https://www.gog.com/game/hocus_pocus and tell me what you think.

So, what the first computer games that you have played? Let's discuss in the comment and reminisce the feeling. Until then, PEACE!!!

Surprisingly Awesome - but discontinued - MMOs That You Probably Never Heard of.

Death is inevitable, everything must come to an end and video games aren't an exception, MMOs to be exact. But unlike any other video game platforms, if an MMO died, it's dead forever - lost in void. You can't play it again, you can't go back to the universe that once existed and all you can do is reminisce. I don't know about you but MMOs give me that special feeling. They let me experience a world a fantasy where I can be anything I wanted to be.

This article pays a tribute to the games that I once played that I really think has full of potentials, but are some unfortunate reason, suffered a premature death without even reaching it's peak.

1. Valkyrie Sky (2009 - 2010) [PC]:

First on the list, Valkyrie Sky, an arcade shooter MMORPG. That's right folks. ARCADE. SHOOTER. MMORPG.

It's a shame that it's life ended without even have to life to it's full potential. The international server only went online for only a year.

Take time to watch the trailer, it has great potential. Really had a great time playing this game and I really really miss playing it.

2. Ghost X / Ghost X Ultimate (2008 - 2011 / 2012) [PC]:

Next of, Ghost X. This one is my personal favorite and I love everything about this game. I love the theme, the world itself, the music, the game play, I LOVE IT!!! Brings me nostalgia every time I watch the trailer. :D

Ghost X has this unique flavor to it's world, it has this post apocalyptic urban feel to it. What make this game so unique in terms of game play is that, it has no job classes. Player uniqueness relies solely on weapons, The Nanobots, as you can see from the trailer. All of the player movements, skills and stats are determined by the currently active Nanobot. Which also meant that clothing provides no stats on the character.

This is one of those games that has full of potential in it's core.

Conclusion: Some of the games will not always survive and probably nothing will, but what makes me sad is that some of those great games will die because of a poor marketing strategy by game providers. I also think that the game name contributes to a game success on some extent. Taking the two games that I've mentioned for example, Ghost X and Valkyrie Sky. I really think that those names are quite frankly, too generic.

But what do I know, I never experienced marketing a game or developing a game for that matter. I'm just a gamer, reminiscing the experiences from the games that I've played.

Anyhow, this is my first article on this blog. I hope you bear with me and more gaming topics to come. :D PEACE!!!
